We can only accept referrals once the benefit form has been obtained. This helps minimise the waiting time for an appointment.
Step one
Review the eligibility criteria for the benefit by visiting the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) website:
Step two
Please obtain the relevant benefit form from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), using the contact details below:
- Attendance Allowance: How to claim
- Employment and Support Allowance: How to claim
- Personal Independence Payment: How to claim
If the deadline is within a week, please contact the DWP for an extension. The number will be on the form or letter you have received.


Step three
Once you have your benefit form, please complete our online referral form. Please provide as much information as possible to help us manage your referral.
If you are a professional, please obtain consent from the individual before making the referral.
Step four
We will review your referral and assign your case to one of our caseworkers. They will be in contact with you to discuss your case and arrange a convenient date and time for your appointment.

Key points to note:
- Important update: We cannot accept new referrals from individuals living in Cambridge City.
- Appeals: Due to limited capacity and resources, we can only support appeals if we assisted you with the original application.
- Disability Living Allowance: We are unable to support individuals with Disability Living Allowance for child applications. We can assist with adult Disability Living Allowance renewals.
- Support limits: We are unable to assist with care requests, budgeting, aids/adaptations, and blue badge applications.
- Evidence: Once you request your benefit form, please start to collect the documentation that will support your application. This could include medical history, medical reports, and letters.
