Attendance Allowance
Attendance Allowance (AA) is a benefit available to individuals who have reached State Pension age and require support with personal care.
You may be considered to have care needs if you need help with everyday tasks such as getting dressed, using the toilet, or having someone to ensure your safety and prevent harm.
This allowance is available regardless of the type of disability or illness you have.
To be eligible, you must have required assistance with your care needs for at least six months. If you are terminally ill, you can apply immediately without waiting.

Personal Independence Payment
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) provides financial support to help with additional living costs if you:
- have a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability, and
- experience difficulty with everyday activities or mobility due to your condition.
PIP has replaced Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for individuals aged 16 and over. It is available to those who are below State Pension age.

Employment Support Allowance
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) provides financial support to individuals who have a health condition or disability that limits their ability to work and who are not receiving Statutory Sick Pay.

Universal Credit capability for work questionnaire
If you receive Universal Credit and are unable to work due to a disability or health condition, you will usually be asked to complete an additional form known as the Work Capability Questionnaire (UC50).
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) use this form to assess how your condition affects your ability to work. Based on your responses, they will determine whether you:
- Are required to look for work
- Are not required to work, but should take steps to prepare for employment (Limited Capability for Work – LCW)
- Are not required to work or prepare for work (Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity – LCWRA)

Tribunal Support
Sometimes, your benefit claim might not be approved first time, but we don’t give up there. We will help you file for an appeal tribunal and support you throughout the whole process.
Please note: we are only able to provide tribunal support if we assisted with your original application.
